SAFE and high quality health services will come under the spotlight at a major conference being held in Bahrain later this year.
The first Bahrain Health Regulatory Conference, organised by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), is expected to discuss and explore the regional and global health regulation schemes.
The three-day forum, ‘Safe and High Quality Health Services’, from November 28 to 30 at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain, is being hosted under the patronage of Supreme Council for Health (SCH) chairman Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
“It is expected to gather healthcare providers, pharmaceutical industries, healthcare organisations, medical educators and accreditation standard experts from across the world, who will share insights on implementing and managing health regulations,” said a statement.
“The conference will feature keynote speakers, lecture presentations, panel discussions, networking, and workshops on health regulation schemes.
“Additionally, the platform aims at providing business opportunities for investors in the healthcare industry.”
A team, under NHRA chief executive Dr Maryam Al Jalahma who will also chair the conference, is working on preparations for the forum, which will seek to educate and implement high-quality standards on safety and health services in Bahrain.
“Our objectives are to make this event one of the continuing medical education activities in the country, and provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and expertise with regards to health regulation schemes in the GCC and the globe,” said the organisers.
“Important strategies and updates in applying health regulation schemes will be discussed at the event while knowledge and updated information on healthcare regulations will be shared.
“The platform will help us benefit from other countries’ experiences in change management related to health reforms and establishing strong policies that would steer and govern the development of the healthcare services.
“Other issues that will come under the spotlight are networking and communicating between local and international expertise, discussing challenges and business opportunities in the health sector, exploring the role of the private sector in health regulation and in maintaining a high quality of healthcare services and the supporting role of international organisations in the implementation of international healthcare accreditation standards and bringing up-to-date health regulatory standards.”
The conference aims to attract key healthcare professionals from Bahrain and the GCC region and beyond who play a significant role in the regulation of the healthcare sector.
They include government healthcare decision makers, health reform and health regulation experts, pharmaceutical and drug company owners, public and private healthcare providers, investors and interested experts in healthcare business and technology experts and solutions providers.
Registrations for the conference can be made online at https://www.bahrainconf.com, while a Press conference to outline the details will be held today at the Grove Hotel and Conference Centre, Amwaj.
