MANAMA: VIVA Bahrain has been named as the official diamond sponsor of Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2019 to be held today and tomorrow.
The event organised under the patronage of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam Khalaf will highlight ICT (information and communication technology) developments and its potential to transform societies into sustainable cities.
“We feel privileged to be associated with this noteworthy event which is a great platform for us to showcase our technology innovation and accelerate Bahrain’s transition towards becoming a smart and sustainable community,” said VIVA Bahrain chief executive Nezar Banabeela.
“With this being our key focus, we have been constantly expanding our communication services footprint into new sectors including real estate, hospitality and education with a range of our smart cities solutions, which are critical to their infrastructure development and operational excellence,” he said in a statement.
During the event, the telecom operator will showcase its physical and smart security solutions such as analysing movements via the CCTV and facial recognition for deployment across shopping malls, airports, public parks and campuses across Bahrain.
Moreover, working with different authorities and business customers it will also showcase its smart ICT solutions such as smart parking, smart lighting that are based on Internet of Things, ICT, sensors and locations, that have been successfully deployed and instrumental in enabling customers and businesses become digitally-evolved.
Through its state-of-the-art Innovation Centre, VIVA Bahrain continues to invest in developing modern smart solutions that are in line with the government’s digital vision of making the economy, environment and quality of life more efficient and effective.
