Oman: The health authorities have issued a statement warning against the use of Zantac, which is prescribed to treat acidity and stomach ulcers.
The statement followed a US Food and Drug Authority (FDA) warning about the presence of the substance ranitidine, commercially known as Zantac, in medicines, which can be a cancer-causing carcinogen.
"The Ministry of Health, along with other competent authorities in Oman and in the GCC countries, is closely monitoring the presence of a dangerous substance in medicines” said the statement.
