Bahraini teenage pop star Hala Al Turk has been voted Favourite Female Artist at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Abu Dhabi 2019.
Ms Al Turk was one of the winners today in the first Middle Eastern International edition of the awards ceremony hosted by the American TV network at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The Bahraini pop sensation won ahead of Egyptian singer Carmen Suleiman, Moroccan singer Manal and Emirati singer Shamma Hamdan.
Nominees from Bahrain included hip-hop artist Flipperachi for Favourite Group and popstar/video game commentator Ahmed Al Nasheet, known as DVLZGame.
The awards ceremony was the first of five annual Kids’ Choice Awards events that will be hosted in Abu Dhabi, with versions of the event having previously been staged in Los Angeles, Berlin, London and Mexico City.
The event is part of a wider programme of activities organised by the Abu Dhabi authority in partnership with Viacom International Media Networks, which will bring a series of activities for children and families to the UAE over the next five years.
