TWENTY poets will take to the stage this weekend as part of an annual poetry festival.
Organised by The Second Circle, a sister group of the Bahrain Writers’ Circle (BWC), The Colours of Life will feature 34 poems and will be held on Saturday.
The festival is perhaps the only bilingual (Arabic and English) poetry presentation in Bahrain that includes a multicultural, multi-ethnic cast of poets from a wide variety of countries including this year from Bahrain, Britain, Canada, Germany, India, Malaysia, Pakistan and Yemen.
It is also one of the only poetry festivals on the island that includes musical and visual accompaniment to the poems.
The event will be held at the Riffa Views’ International School’s Level 5, a unique non-profit professional learning centre that aims to spark innovation and creativity across Bahrain.
Admission is free to the festival which begins at 7pm and all guests are advised to bring their CPR/ID card for entry.
