Muscat: Two patients died at Sultan Qaboos Hospital in the region of Dhofar after contracting the Swine Flu (H1N1) virus in 2019.
The Ministry of Health issued an updated report, refuting allegations claiming H1N1-related infections are alarming on the rise at the hospital, reported Times of Oman.
The ministry said that the hospital has the necessary medical equipment to deal with such cases.
The Directorate General of Health Services in Dhofar confirmed that 78 patients had tested positive to H1N1 in 2019 – of whom two died in July and August respectively.
The directorate said that all the patients were infected with the disease before arriving at the hospital for treatment.
