TAMIL NADU, INDIA: Four members from the same family died while clicking a selfie at a dam in Tamil Nadu, India.
Among the dead was the newlywed 20-year-old bride Nivedha and her relatives Sneha, 22, Kanniga, 20, and Santosh 14.
Her husband G Perumalsamy, 25, survived who managed to save his 15-year-old sister Yuvarani Perumalsamy.
The couple were visiting relatives in Tamil Nadu, when they decided to take a picture at Pambar Dam holding hands while standing in waist-high water.
Santosh slipped and dragged others along with him.
According to the US National Library of Medicine study, India has the highest number of 'selfie deaths' in the world, followed by Russia, the US and Pakistan.
