Legal action will be taken against a parent accused of making false claims about a school teacher shortage.
The parent released a video on social media claiming a school reduced the number of its classes because there were not enough teachers.
However, the Education Ministry denied the allegation last night and claimed it was actually due to a reduced number of students.
The claims centre on third grade classes at Munther Bin Sawa Primary School for Boys.
“The number of students had dropped to 18 per class, which is why classes were reassigned so there were 28 students in each class,” said Ministry Public Relations director Fawaz Al Sherooqi.
“This is still less than the approved number of students per class.
“In addition to the false claims made against the ministry and wrong accusations directed at the ministry’s work, the person who made the claims violated the privacy of the school by shooting footage inside a classroom without authorisation and spread the video on social media.”
Mr Al Sherooqi added claims that parents staged a sit-in were also untrue, saying footage of the alleged protest simply showed parents during a routine meeting.
