The Indian team shone brightest in the Bahrain International Badminton Championship, which came to a close on Sunday.
Rajut emerged victorious to lead India sweep of the first three places in the male category.
Second was Canadian Justin Anthony, and Indian Jindal and Thai Jamesri who were tied for third place.
In the women’s individual contest, Indian “Vatamawati” ranked first, followed by compatriot Sharma. Pansud and Kashiab, also Indians, shared the third position.
In the women’s doubles, Peruvian Daniella and Danessa claimed the top spot, followed by Thai Suthin and Kaniant, Czech Veronica and Martina and Indian duo Aghna and Roy.
A total of 111 players – 74 males and 37 females – representing 23 countries took part in the tournament.
Bahrain Badminton and Squash Association secretary-general Hesham Al Khan, treasurer Ibrahim Kamal and GPIC representative presented the top three winners in each category with medals and cups.
