THE 19th edition of the ‘Week of Italian Language in the World’ will be celebrated in Bahrain through three key events, from today.
Rome University Professor Normal: Marco Ruffini will speak on the “timeless and universal genius” of Leonardo da Vinci, a symbol of Italian culture and Renaissance.
The lecture will be held at the Bahrain National Theatre at 6.30pm today.
This will be followed by a screening of a film on Da Vinci’s life and inspiration tomorrow at the Bahrain National Museum at 7pm.
The lecture and the screening have been planned in co-operation with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.
Also tomorrow, the first Italian Centre for Language and Culture in Bahrain will be inaugurated by the Italian Embassy and the Royal University for Women (RUW), Riffa at 11am.
The opening comes as a follow-up to the first Italian language course initiated at the RUW this year.
