A LECTURE on the Nassif House and the Al Fadhel Mosque will be held on Sunday.
The event will be led by Intercollegiate Centre for Classical Studies Professor Dr Roberto Nardi who will give a presentation on the studies done and the mechanism of work and implementation of The House of Nassif.
He will also highlight the minaret of Al Fadhel Mosque as one of the most prominent historical monuments in the old city of Manama.
Dr Nardi has directed more than 50 projects in 10 countries, on monuments and sites such as the Septimius Severus Arch and the Temple of Vespasian and Titus in the Roman Forum, the mural paintings of the Amiriya Madrasa in Yemen, and the mosaics of Saint Catherine’s Monastery in Sinai.
He has also published more than 80 technical articles and co-edited seven volumes on conservation.
He is president of the International Committee for the Conservation of Mosaics and a member of International Council of Museums – Committee for Conservation.
The lecture will be held at the Bahrain National Museum, at 1pm.
