BAHRAIN went down fighting to Oman by seven wickets in the semi-final of the ACC Under-16 Western Region Cricket Tournament in Muscat yesterday, reports Vijay Mruthyunjaya.
In the other semi-final, the UAE scored an eight-wicket victory over Kuwait. The final is scheduled for today.
Batting first, Bahrain were bowled out for 51 in 32.1 overs and Oman reached the target in 14.3 overs with seven wickets to spare.
Oman’s Tanuj Sivakumar Shridevi (5-4) was the man-of-the-match for his fine bowling performance.
The other match was also a low scoring affair as Kuwait were bowled out for 46 in 17.5 overs with A Bhargava (3-12) and A Kumar (5-6) the successful bowlers.
In reply, the UAE reached the target in 10.1 overs with eight wickets to spare.
Bahrain reached the semi-finals by finishing second in Group ‘A’, behind the UAE, with two wins from three matches.
