Strengthening its connectivity in the region, Oman’s value-for-money airline, SalamAir, has launched direct flights to Dammam in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
Dammam is the third city in Saudi Arabia SalamAir flies to after Riyadh and Jeddah, in addition to seasonal flights to Madinah.
Dammam is a major administrative centre for Saudi Arabia’s oil industry. Together with the nearby cities of Dhahran and Al Khobar, Dammam is also a major hub for shipping, commerce and industry. It is also well known for the host of recreational facilities it offers residents and visitors alike.
The Dammam route is the airline’s 11th destination in the GCC, and SalamAir will be the first low-cost carrier to operate direct flights between Muscat and Dammam.
The new route, which will commence on November 19, will have three return-trips weekly between Muscat and Dammam. Bookings for flights to these destinations are now open at a special promotional fare starting from OR39.
Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir said, “We are committed to strengthening our regional operations to important destinations in GCC. As part of this expansion, we have introduced new flight from Muscat to Dammam. There is a huge demand for this route as it is home to Saudi Arabia’s oil and gas industry. We are happy to connect Muscat to this commerce, trade and recreational hub, contributing to the growth of trade and tourism through improved mobility. The launch of this new route will provide increased convenience to customers from both sides. The connectivity reflects the strong ties between Oman and Saudi Arabia in a number of areas including business and tourism.”
He added: “With unmatched Omani hospitality, we offer impeccable service and are happy that travellers continue to enjoy flying with SalamAir. We will continue to increase our network across the world to meet the requirements of both business and leisure travellers.”
