MANAMA: The Bahrain Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (BCICAI) has announced “Disruption A Catalyst for Growth” as the theme of its 11th Annual International Conference to be held on November 29 and 30.
Held under the patronage of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Alzayani, the conference will take place at Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa.
“Key speakers from professional circles will be led by former Indian Minister for Commerce, Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu,” said BCICAI chairman Maheshkumar Narayan.
“Delegates will also get to hear from Mohandas Pai, chairman of Manipal Global Education; Kris Gopalakrishnan, chairman of Axilor Ventures, a company supporting and funding start-ups; G R Gopinath, founder of Air Deccan; and Vikram Limaye, chief executive of the National Stock Exchange India.”
Speakers include D Sivanandhan, former director general of Police of the Indian state of Maharashtra, and Oscar winner Resul Pookutty who will share how disruption helped him to succeed.
Bahrainis who have confirmed their participation include Abdulnabi Al Sho’ala, founder and adviser to AlFanar Investment Holding and Khalid Saad, CEO, Bahrain Fintech Bay.
The conference is expected to see the presence of the ICAI president Prafulla Chhajed and vice-president Atul Gupta.
“The event is expected to attract more than 350 participants including key decision-makers, C-level executives, entrepreneurs, finance and investment professionals,” said Mr Narayan.

Attendance at the conference counts as part of the recognised continued professional education credits, which is a requisite by the ICAI. Attendance carries 12+ hours of CPE training credits for CAs. The conference is open to non-CAs too.
