I AM amazed that a vote is required to bring back some normality to our lives in Bahrain (GDN, October 28), “Shop timing vote”.
The Northern Municipal Council is going to vote if shops, in residential areas should close at midnight! This is a no brainer, YES, of course these should be closed. People need their rest that is why we are spending millions of dinars on medicines, people are not sleeping! That is why we have all these municipal councils, we don’t need all these councils, one is enough, we don’t sleep to make wise decisions.
Why does the Northern Municipal Council not vote on various entities using loud speakers to spread their messages to people in their homes, after a hard day’s work, while we play with our children, preparing them for bed; at my front door I record 78 decibels of noise from these entities.
So, yes, close the shops by 9pm, and stop entities from using loud speakers, forever. There are modern technologies available, Apps can be designed for people to send their messages direct to those that want to listen.
All business establishments in residential areas must be closed by 9pm, at the latest. And no loud speakers, ever, on any entities. People need their rest so we can make Bahrain great again!
