Winners with the trophy along with AMH and school officials
Students of Asian School Bahrain won the top prize in a first-of-its-kind triathlon organised by the American Mission Hospital (AMH).
The school team won the AMH – Health is Wealth trophy by scoring the maximum points at the Med-Athlon 2019, an event aimed to raise awareness about the use of antibiotics among children.
It fell in line with World Antibiotic Awareness Week which will be marked from November 18 to 22.
Held under the theme, ‘Healthy living with special emphasis on the appropriate use of antibiotics’, the event featured poster, quiz and speech competitions.
From the preliminary rounds nine posters, 12 speakers and six quiz teams from various schools were shortlisted for the finals.
The finale was held at Al Raja School where AMH group chief executive Julia Tovey was chief guest.
Also present were AMH chief operating officer Arun Govind, Infection Control Committee chairman Dr Ramakrishna and community liaison physician Dr Babu Ramachandran, among others.
