Bahraini athlete Adnan Al Alawi is continuing his preparations for the upcoming International Asian Equestrian Games, organised by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) in Pattaya, Thailand, from December 2 to 8.
Al Alawi will compete against some of the best athletes in the Asian continent in the showjumping competition.
The Championship is expected to be a platform for select participants in the continent from both genders to showcase their skills and talents, and to score leading positions on the continental and international levels.
Al Alawi expressed hope that he would achieve positive results in Pattaya to end the year on a winning note.
“I will represent the Bahrain in the International Asian Equestrian Games in a positive way, in light of the support by His Majesty the King’s representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and SCYS first deputy chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa as well as the constant follow-up of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation president Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
“The International Asian Equestrian Games is considered to be the second largest equestrian event in the Asian continent, following the Asian Games showjumping contests. All competitors look forward to partaking in this prestigious event. As a representative of the Bahraini showjumping sports in this competition, I will not spare any effort to achieve top positions,” Al Alawi said.
He added, “I have undergone extensive training sessions in the recent weeks and am planning to utilise the experience I have gained at the Asian Games in Jakarta last year and HM the King’s Championship in the Royal Windsor Horse Show this year to compete for the top positions in this championship.”
