Extravagant pieces of jewellery including luxury pearl necklaces, gold bracelets, precious stones and diamonds continued to attract visitors to Jewellery Arabia 2019.
The 28th edition of Middle East’s premier jewellery and watch exhibition opened at Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sanabis on Tuesday.
Visitors to the show yesterday were drawn to a ‘secret garden’ collection by Italian jewellery house Pasquale Bruni.
Called Giardini Segreti, the collection was inspired by the secret gardens of Milan in Italy.
“In Milan there are a lot of secret gardens that you actually do not see from the street outside,” said Pasquale Bruni global commercial director Roberto Bocus.
“Once you get in the courtyard, then you fall in love with it, because it is beautiful.
“This is where the name comes from, and the collection includes mainly white and rose gold with diamonds.”
The brand’s exhibit in hall one at the centre also includes “a collection that went out last January”.
“We have a few icons – one is Bon Ton, a flower which was designed by the founder Mr Bruni many many years ago.
“It was designed like a child would design it and since then it has become an icon of the company.
“This year we made an extension of a few pieces of the Bon Ton because the collections are always articulated into different ways – one way is an extension line and the second is through new lines which are completely new.”
One of this year’s novelties is Figlia Dei Fiori (daughter of the flower) which is a mini flower Bon Ton in different colours put together.
“It is also a technological innovation with titanium inside that made all the rings, bracelets and chockers flexible.”
The brand also has limited edition pieces which are one-of-a-kind designed by the daughter of the owner and artistic director of the company Eugenia Bruni.
“She falls in love with a few stones every single year and then she builds up around the stones to create a one-of-a-kind jewellery,” Mr Bocus added.
“I am excited about Figlia Dei Fiori because I think it can be embraced by quite a wide age range and it can be mixed and matched.”
The brand is back in Bahrain this year with support from its partner Asia Jewellers, who have been working together for 20 years.
More than 55,000 visitors from Bahrain and the region are expected to attend the exhibition which runs until Saturday.
It will be open from 4pm to 10pm today and tomorrow and from midday until 10pm on Saturday.
