Manama: The Crown Prince yesterday ordered the monitoring of Bahrain’s air quality to ensure compliance with safe international pollution standards.
Chairing the weekly Cabinet meeting, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, directed officials to tackle the causes and effects of pollution.
He stressed the need to comply with and ensure ambient air pollutants are within international safe rates.
He instructed them to identify sources of pollution and reduce their impact, assigning the Supreme Council for the Environment to co-ordinate in this regard with competent authorities.
Based on the recommendation of the Civil Service Council the Cabinet approved the amended executive regulations of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps Law.
They regulate the appointment of members of the diplomatic corps, their promotions, performance, transportation, delegation, secondments and expenses, which include housing, health insurance, mobility and education of their children.
The Cabinet approved the draft law on the issuance of the executive regulations, as recommended by the ministerial committee for legal and legislative affairs.
In light of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s directives to utilise medical assistance from Bahraini doctors working in private medical institutions for medical consultations and surgical operations needed at Salmaniya Medical Complex, the Cabinet reviewed a draft resolution stipulating the procedures and regulations needed to swiftly implement it.
