YOUNG showjumper Pepa Foury produced a stunning and well-deserved victory in the first youth competition which was held as part of the second round of the showjumping season under the sponsorship of Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, president of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef), held at Al Raffa.
Riding Guardian, Foury jumped to victory in 28.91 seconds and without committing any fault.
Jameela Hassid was second four seconds behind the winner, while Hussain Asghar finished third in 43.42 seconds and with four faults.
In the second event for youth, Hussain Asghar made up his third-place finish by topping the podium in this competition, clocking 32.82 seconds.
Sultan Al Rumaihi was second in 31.61 but with four faults. Asghar was in top form in this race, winning third-place too with four faults.
The winners were honoured by Mohammed Dadaallah, manager of the championship, and Ms Huda Janahi, owner of Horse Pride Company.

“I am very happy with my performances and results. I wasn’t lucky in the first competition, but I showed my worth in the second,” Asghar.
“I trained hard and my efforts throughout the week were fruitful.” From his side, Al Rumaihi said: “I managed to win second place in the second competition and fifth place in the first. I am trying to learn a lot from my brother Mayoof. He is my idol.”
