MANAMA: Ahli United Bank (AUB) has launched eMyHassad, an online version of its MyHassad savings scheme.
The eMyHassad platform makes purchasing savings certificates easier allowing people to take part in draws more frequently rather than letting their money lay idle, said the bank.
It does away with the need for a new or existing customer to visit a branch, making it easier to establish a relationship or add to MyHassad savings certificates.
The entire process is designed so that a saver can open a relationship with AUB and receive their MyHassad certificates in a single transaction without having to visit a branch or wait to make a payment.
According to the bank, it introduces many firsts to the market like: Eliminating the need to download an app to purchase certificates; Allowing instant purchase of certificates through any debit card and Receiving of certificates via email.
“We want to encourage a regular savings habit. As part of our digital transformation, making the savings process effortless via eMyHassad, was a key initiative for us,” said deputy group chief executive retail banking Suvrat Saigal.
“We did not want the effort of going to a branch come in the way for people to save and get an opportunity to win several exciting prizes. So, we have ensured that both existing and new customers would be able to receive their certificates at the end of a single digital interaction with the bank.”
Every purchase of a eMyHassad certificate, worth BD50, made with any Bahrain-based debit card, will allow customers to enter the MyHassad draws for a chance to win valuable prizes including the $1 million jackpot to be announced later this month.
Since its inception, over 16,000 MyHassad customers have taken home more than BD67m in cash prizes.
