MANAMA: Inflation in Bahrain as measured by Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose in October by 1.9 per cent when compared with the same month last year, shows the latest data from the Information and eGovernment Authority.
This 12-month change was higher than the 12-month change recorded in September 2019 (up 1.2pc) and higher than 12-month change recorded in August 2019 (up 1.3pc).
The most notable change in October 2019 was in the food and non-alcoholic beverages category, which saw an increase in prices by 4.3pc; mainly due to a 25.5pc jump in fish and seafood prices, followed by 15.1pc spike in the price of vegetables.
Compared with the previous month, the October 2019 CPI increased by 0.6pc, reaching 100.5 points (April 2019=100).
