MANAMA: Diyar Al Muharraq has announced the completion of the first phase of highway landscaping including the increase of green areas within the master-planned city.
Phase one of the project will offer residents and visitors extensive landscaped and park areas as part of its healthy lifestyle offering.
This initial phase includes, in addition to the landscaping, the installation of benches and waste collection bins.
It also includes a fully automated irrigation system, which preserves the green areas while eliminating the need for manual labour.
The automated irrigated system can be programmed to operate anytime and only when required, as to improve the efficiency of water usage.
The Diyar Al Muharraq masterplan was designed to reduce both energy consumption and carbon emissions, while promoting the concept of sustainability by taking into account the three key elements, social, economic and environmental.
It is being developed as one of the largest integrated cities in Bahrain, with a unique blend of residential, commercial, recreational and healthcare facilities.
