The organising committee of the Middle East Ironman 70.3 Championship Bahrain held meetings with officials representing various government agencies to discuss the organisation of the prestigious event.
Representatives from all the government agencies met championship manager and Amal Al Murbati, president of Faaliyat Company, the organiser of the event.
The meeting unveiled the course of the three races of the event, which include a 1.9km swimming race, to be held near the Avenues Mall and a 90km cycling race. The latter contest will take the participants through the premium historic and tourist sites of Bahrain to shed light on the kingdom’s old as well as contemporary development. The race, meanwhile, will conclude with a 21.1km running challenge.
Ahmed Al Hajj announced that the venue of the event, taking place on Saturday, near the Avenues Mall is ready. He said that His Majesty the King’s representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has been in constant follow-up with the organising committee.
Shaikh Nasser’s Media Office and Information Centre director Tawfiq Al Salehi said that Shaikh Nasser has issued directives regarding comprehensive media coverage of the event.
