MANAMA: Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Governor Rasheed Al Maraj has won the Lifetime Achievement Award at The Banker Middle East Industry Awards for his 14-year contribution to shaping the financial and banking sector in Bahrain and the region.
The award recognises the outstanding efforts of Mr Al Maraj, who was appointed as governor in 2005.
Under his leadership, the CBB continued to develop the regulatory environment for the financial and banking sector and to undertake major initiatives in conventional and Islamic banking, insurance, payment systems and financial technology (fintech).
The Banker Middle East Industry Awards are organised by CPI Financial.
