His Majesty the King’s representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday welcomed athletes from all over the world ahead of Saturday’s Ironman Middle East 70.3 Championship.
Shaikh Nasser said the organising committee is ready to host the event, adding that its members have worked tirelessly to ensure the event is a tremendous success.
Shaikh Nasser wished all the participants success in the event.
The official inauguration of championship will take place today with the launch of an Expo and a press conference.
Bin Faqeeh, meanwhile, announced its support to the three-day event which begins today with the main race set for Saturday.
It also includes Ironkids, Aquathlon and Irongirl races set for tomorrow.
“I am proud to once again be a sponsor of this event. We believe that the race allows for the promotion of personal fitness and also places the kingdom on the global stage,” said Bin Faqeeh chairman Faisal Faqeeh.

Ramee Grand Hotel and SPA was announced as the official five-star hotel partner and Coca-Cola Bahrain the championship beverage sponsor.
