FAREEDA, owned by Al A’ali Stud, won the two-year mare title collecting 91.67 points yesterday in the Ninth National Day Horse Beauty Championship.
Heba Al Ameer (90.83) and Jawaher (90.67) finished second and third respectively.
The event showcased various competitions each one for mares of different age group.
AY Shereen won first place in the three-year-old section and Janah Al Jaboor finished on top in the 4-6-year-old category.
Basbosat Al Fardoos won first place in the seven-year-old and above category and AA Victoria was the winner of the mares championship.
Valentino secured a narrow win following a hot contest in the one-year-old category. In the two-year-old category, AT Al Borak topped the podium.
The championship will continue today at 3.45pm at Al Rafah arena at the Military Sports Federation.
Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, president of Bahrain Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef), witnessed the events.
Shaikh Isa praised the level of organisation of the event on its first day, appreciated the media coverage and thanked the efforts of the Ministry of Information in making the event a huge success.
