Dubai: British National Council for Occupational Safety and Health Examinations (NEBOSH) took part in an exhibition on the sidelines of the 14th annual Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) Forum in Dubai, as part of the GPIC pavilion.
NEBOSH representatives took the opportunity to raise awareness about its activities and initiatives in the field of occupational safety standards.
GPIC President Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery welcomed NEBOSH participation and said it showed its strong partnership with GPIC while strengthening their joint efforts in enhancing occupational safety. He said it also highlights GPIC’s role to comply with safety standards at worksites and recognises its excellence in obtaining prestigious NEBOSH and other certificates given by those concerned with occupational safety.
He said company standards are constantly developed to ensure that all employees enjoy a healthy and safe environment, in compliance with its core policies that place workers’ health and safety as a priority.
Dr Jawahery highlighted the confidence NEBOSH has about GPIC and said he takes pride in being chosen as its brand ambassador for the Middle East. He said this shows the depth of the strategic partnership between the two sides.
GPIC took part in the forum with a high-level delegation led by its chairman Dr Ahmed Ali Al Sharyan.
The event has attracted more than 2,000 executives and representatives from top regional and international companies from 52 countries.
GPIC is one of the most well-known companies in the field of safety, health and protection of the environment in the region and around the world and has won several prestigious international awards.
GPCA is the first organisation of its kind in Middle East and has seen a steady expansion in its activities since it was set up in March 2006 to guide the chemical and petrochemical industries in the Gulf countries.
It aims to strengthen the role of its member companies and states in formulating policies and regulations related to the chemical and petrochemical sector to ensure sustainable and responsible growth.
GPCA also provides opportunities for member companies to communicate through various platforms to exchange information and expertise to ensure the desired development and prosperity of companies in the sector.
