TICKETS to the Women’s Crisis Care International (WCCI) Annual Gala are now available for purchase.
The Latin carnival-themed black-tie event will be held on January 23 at the InterContinental Bahrain.
The WCCI gala is the second one of its kind and will feature live music by a Latin pianist, tango performance, traditional Latin dancers, luxury auction and a grand raffle.
“We are expecting around 230 people and right now we have 100 seats left,” said WCCI founder and executive director Mary Justine Todd.
“All proceeds will be going to WCCI’s emergency food and transport to support women in conflict situations.
“It will be used for therapy, to pay medical bills and as school fees for their children to help them create a healthy family and living situation,” she added.
Some part of the proceeds will also be used to conduct women’s empowerment programmes in the kingdom.
Formed in 2015, the WCCI provides a safe space for women who have experienced sexual or domestic abuse.
It also provides community education programmes and shares expertise with hospitals and community organisations.
Tickets cost BD40 per head and are available @womenscci on Instagram, by calling 17651421, or online at eventbrite.com.
