A SERIES of fun-filled activities including a spectacular fireworks show have been lined up for New Year’s celebrations.
Organised by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), the festivities will take place tomorrow night at The Avenues Bahrain.
The festivities will kick off at 8pm, with a live performance of fusion folk music by Majaz Musical Band followed by ballet dancers performing on stilts, ‘A Dancing of Colour’.
The event will also include live DJ and Drumming with Sonic Snares all the way from the UK that will be accompanied by mesmerising light shows.
Spectators will also have the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking musical aerial performance by the dancers and acrobats of Sonic.
Chiming in the New Year with style, the event will end with a giant projection of a countdown timer on the side facade of the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, ushering in the midnight hour marking the beginning of 2020 with a dazzling fireworks show.
“It gives us great pleasure to announce the exciting line-up of activities for this event, in that we are seeking to offer visitors and their families a unique and memorable experience in light of the sheer variety of events which include a remarkable fireworks show,” said BTEA chief executive Nader Al Moayyed in a statement.
“By selecting a diverse range of entertainment for this celebratory occasion, suitable for visitors of all ages, we aim to further attract visitors from Bahrain and neighbouring GCC countries, thereby further developing the local tourism sector and increasing the contribution of non-oil sectors to the national economy.”
BTEA tourism relations head Reem Tawfiqi said it would be a delight to host the New Year’s Eve celebrations accompanied by a grand display of fireworks, alongside activities targeting families.
“It is with great honour that we invite all residents, citizens and tourists to join in the celebrations at this event for an unforgettable experience,” she added in the statement.
“In 2020, BTEA will continue to host more family-friendly events and entertainment shows in order to attract tourists in greater numbers, thereby further developing Bahrain’s tourism sector.
“Bahrain continues to strengthen its position as the ideal tourism destination and has achieved world-class status due to its distinctive tourism offerings.”
