THREE teenagers who lured and raped a 15-year-old boy have lost their final appeals.
The defendants lured their victim into a house in Manama where they sexually assaulted him, in 2018.
One of the defendants, aged 19, is said to have blackmailed the victim, by threatening to tell his parents about his alcohol habit.
He is then said to have placed a dumbbell against the victim’s neck before calling out to his accomplices to come out of a closet.
The defendants then took turns in sexually abusing the 15-year-old.
All three were jailed for five years by the High Criminal Court in April 2018.
However, they lodged appeals against their convictions at the Supreme Criminal Appeals Court which rejected their applications in October 2018.
The Cassation Court then kicked out a final appeal lodged by the defendants.
“One of the defendants (aged 19) lured the victim to his home after threatening to tell his parents about him drinking alcohol,” read the court ruling.
“His co-defendants hid in the closet before he stripped the victim naked and held a dumbbell against his neck.
“He threatened to assault him with the dumbbell before his accomplices came out of the closet to hold the victim down.
“The defendants then took turns in sexually assaulting the victim.
“They then threatened to throw him out of the house naked before returning his clothes after he promised them he would not inform anyone about his ordeal.”
The victim described how his assailants overpowered him before sexually assaulting him.
“I did not know that they were going to sexually assault me when I went to his (the 19-year-old defendant’s) home,” he told prosecutors.
“He said he would tell my parents that I drank alcohol and I was scared.
“I went to his home before he forced me into his bedroom and stripped me naked.
“He held me on the ground and put a dumbbell against my neck.
“His friends also held me down on the ground and they took turns in sexually assaulting me.
“They then gave me back my clothes and warned me not to tell anyone about my ordeal.”
