National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday received at his majlis Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, GCC secretary general Dr Abdullatiff Al Zayani and Bahraini ambassadors abroad.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the annual diplomacy forum of the kingdom’s ambassadors, organised by Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies.
Maj-Gen Shaikh Nasser thanked the ambassadors for their efforts to serve Bahrain and promote its international status.
He said Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and the support of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, represents a pioneering model in foreign policy. It is based on the principles of respect and co-operation with no interference in other countries’ internal affairs, he said.
Maj-Gen Shaikh Nasser lauded the key role of Bahraini ambassadors. He stressed the need to foster partnership and co-operation to confront regional and international challenges, fight terrorism and promote peace and stability in the Middle East.
He also urged to enhance Bahrain’s diplomacy in light of the kingdom’s achievements to cope with the reform march and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
