MORE than 1,200 people are expected to attend a live ghazal (a form of poetry) performance by renowned ghazal and playback singer Hariharan later this month.
‘Dil Ki Baat’ is being organised by Choice Advertising and Publicity in association with Indian Institute for Performing Arts (IIPA).
Hariharan started his career as a ghazal performer and subsequently recorded many hits, rising to fame for his singing in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam films.
He has won many national and international awards during his musical career including India’s fourth-highest civilian award Padma Sri.
During the event, he will be accompanied by well-known performers Akhlak Hussain on the harmonium, Shahdaab Roshan Bhatia on tabla, Sanjoy Das on guitar and Prakash Ullyeri on keyboard.
“It gives us immense pleasure to announce such an exceptional and outstanding music programme presented by a very versatile music genius such as Hariharan for the music lovers of Bahrain,” said IIPA managing director and principal Ambilikkuttan.
The event is scheduled to be held on January 24 at 6.30pm at the Crown Plaza Manama.
