MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad yesterday praised the role of Bahrain’s diplomacy in strengthening global peace and stability.
It has set a “special model” by relying on values stemming from human culture and the Bahraini personality that is known for its communication with the world with its varied cultures and civilisations, he said.
It has also consolidated the kingdom’s relations with the world, His Majesty said when he received Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa who introduced him to diplomats accredited to Bahrain, senior officials and Foreign Ministry employees at Sakhir Palace.
The ceremony marked Diplomacy Day, which celebrates the completion of 50 years of the Foreign Ministry on January 14 this year.
The King underlined the success of Bahrain’s balanced diplomacy and flexible and decisive policies which have helped confront challenges and solve crises. The Foreign Minister highlighted the inspirational role of Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the pioneer of Bahrain’s diplomacy.
He presented the King with a commemorative gift on the occasion.
