Dubai: A new district dedicated to the new economy will take shape in Dubai.
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum unveiled the 'Dubai Future District' project during the second Dubai Council meeting.
The Dubai Future District consists in linking Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Emirates Towers and Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) directly via a bridge, making it the Middle East’s largest district dedicated to developing the new economy.
He also announced the launch of an AED1 billion fund to support the companies which will operate out of Dubai Future District, and which have the potential to drive Dubai’s new economy and contribute to enhancing the emirate's position as a preferred destination for global talents and entrepreneurs.
He also announced a new AED2 trillion target for the volume of Dubai's foreign trade by 2025, which will be supported by establishing 50 offices around the world, each tasked with promoting Dubai’s trade, tourism and investment offerings and intensifying and unifying external marketing efforts, according to WAM.
