A BAHRAINI was arrested for theft less than 24 hours after the incident was reported, it has emerged.
According to the Capital Governorate Police Directorate director-general, the 29-year-old man was suspected of stealing a car and driving it into the sea.
“The directorate received a report of the incident after which an investigation was launched leading to the identification of the suspect,” he said in an official statement released last night on the Interior Ministry’s official Twitter account.
“Once the suspect was identified he was arrested and it was revealed that he stole a vehicle from a showroom in Sitra and purposely drowned it in the sea in Karzakan.”
“Legal proceedings are underway to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.”
