MANAMA: Gulf Air celebrated the first tourist to land in the Maldives in 2020.
Bahraini Mohamed Al Amer and his wife were the lucky winners after they landed at Male International Airport on Gulf Air flight GF144 on January 1 at 0610 Male local time.
They were welcomed by Maldives’ minister of tourism and managing director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation.
The couple received special gifts from the tourism ministry and a complimentary holiday voucher from a key resort as well as two complimentary return air tickets from Gulf Air.
Gulf Air operates the newest Airbus 320neo aircraft on its five direct weekly flights between Bahrain and the Maldives.
