A COMEDY dinner theatre show will be staged in Bahrain next month.
Blame it on Yashraj, written and directed by Indian actor/director Bharat Dabholkar, is an English play that looks at a family caught up in the whirlwind of their daughter’s wedding which gets bigger and bigger by day.
The two-hour show pokes fun at prejudices and at the almost feverish behaviour while planning a wedding, the theme, invitee list, wedding trousseau, menu, décor, extravagant gifts and exotic honeymoons.
It tells the story of a Punjabi/Bengali family caught in the whirlwind of a wedding getting bigger by the day, when their daughter decides to marry a Muslim boy.
The play features an ensemble cast of well-known stage and TV artistes, music by Indian composer Louis Banks and Bollywood choreography.
Organised by La Bonn V under their Irresistible India series, the show is presented by the Bahrain Indian Society.
The event will be held on February 6 at the Hotel Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea and Spa from 7pm with the play scheduled to start at 7.30pm.
