Doha: Al Khor won the match by 1-0 against Mesaimeer and eased its relegation fear in the Qatar Sports League.

Victory for the Knights sees them move on to 28 points – six clear of second-bottom Qatar Sports Club with three games to go.

It was Mesaimeer’s 20th defeat in the QSL.

Rodion Gacanin’s men have taken just five points and scored only 14 goals this season.

The only goal of the game came in added time at the end of the first half at Al Khor Stadium.

Mesaimeer failed to clear a long throw and the ball found its way to Madson at the back post.

The Brazilian flicked the ball across the goal-line and it ended up in the back of the net after Abdulaziz Al Sherif somehow hooked an attempted clearance past Mohammed Ghanem.
