A COMEDY dinner theatre show will be staged in Bahrain tomorrow.
Blame it on Yashraj, written and directed by Indian actor/director Bharat Dabholkar, is an English play that looks at a family caught up in the whirlwind of their daughter’s wedding which gets bigger and bigger by day.
The two-hour show pokes fun at prejudices and at the almost feverish behaviour while planning a wedding, the theme, invitee list, wedding trousseau, menu, décor, extravagant gifts and exotic honeymoons.
It tells the story of a Punjabi/Bengali daughter deciding to marry a Muslim boy. The play features an ensemble cast of well-known Indian stage and TV artistes, music by Indian composer Louis Banks and Bollywood choreography.
The play, presented by the Bahrain Indian Society, will be held at the Hotel Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea and Spa at 7.30pm with the doors opening at 7pm.
