Riyadh: A 53-year-old man has been diagnosed with Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in the city of Al Nairiya, in the Eastern Province.
A 47-year-old man has also tested positive for the virus in the city of Mecca, said the Ministry of Health.
The Command and Control Centre did not say whether the two patients had contracted the virus from camels.
The Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) is a viral respiratory disease caused by a novel coronavirus (Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus, or MERSāCoV) that was first identified in Saudi Arabia in 2012 (World Health Organisation).
