UAE's newest developer Arada has finally announced the official opening date of Madar, an exciting new family-focused entertainment complex located in the heart of Aljada, the 24-million sq ft mega-community currently under construction in Sharjah.
The Phase One of Madar, which is spread over a 600,000 sq ft area, will be unveiled on February 27, giving the public an opportunity to see what life in Sharjah’s largest lifestyle destination will be like when finished, said the Emirati developer in a press statement.
Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, Madar contains a cluster of zones and attractions all set in a beautifully landscaped area that includes more than 5,000 trees and parking for 800 cars. It is also the first part of Aljada to be completed.
Among the attractions on offer in the inaugural phase, will be a food district featuring 18 different types of cuisine, a children’s play area, a skatepark, an amphitheatre, indoor and outdoor events spaces and the centerpiece of the complex, Aljada Discovery Centre, said the statement.
As well as the public launch, Madar will also feature a packed calendar of festivals, events and activities that will keep families coming back time and again. The full list of attractions and events on offer at Madar will be released shortly, it added.
Chairman Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi said: "It has been our aim from the start to create communities that inspire and engage their residents and visitors. We are excited to see that vision come to life with the launch of Madar, a new home for entertainment and culture in Sharjah, a place that is already known the world over for its outstanding contribution to heritage and the arts."
Planned over three phases, Madar will be over 25 football fields in size (1.9 million sq ft) when fully completed and is the focal point of Aljada. The Madar masterplan is defined by lush green space and many water features, and is designed to be fully walkable, even in the summer months.
A new leisure and entertainment district for the UAE, Madar also cements Aljada’s role as a transformational project for Sharjah, stated Sheikh Sultan.
“We look forward to welcoming members of the public to a destination that encourages creativity and adventure, where visitors of all ages can learn, relax and explore, all within a beautifully designed space,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
