Riyadh: The Ministry of Health announced that over 100 people suspected of contracting the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) have all tested negative.
“All the people who have been subjected to medical screening had returned recently to Saudi Arabia from China," said National Disease Control Centre executive director Dr Emad Al Mohammadi.
He said that a hospital had been designated in each province across Saudi Arabia to keep any suspected cases in isolation pending results of the medical tests.
Meanwhile, he said that a total of 2,494 people have been diagnosed with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) since it was first detected in 2012 – of whom 800 have died.
