Dubai: The Dubai police busted an attempt to smuggle the biggest quantity of amphetamine pills in the emirate in a sting operation.
The anti-narcotics officers seized a total of 5,656 kilogrammes of amphetamine pills worth AED35.8 million.
The narcotics were found stashed in reels of electric cables in the operation which was codenamed Pule2.
Four Arab nationals, believed to be part of a drug-smuggling network, have all been arrested pending investigation.
The gang ringleader who is considered one of the biggest drug smugglers is reported in a Eurasian country.
Investigations revealed that they were planning to re-export the drugs to another Arab country.
