The 11th edition of the annual Ta’a Al Shabab cultural festival opened yesterday, with the support of Tamkeen.
Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca) president Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa attended the opening of the festival, being held this year under the theme “Intensification, Diversification and Definition”.
Cultural and media figures and youth attended the ceremony held on the rooftop of the Edamah parking building.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Shaikha Mai stressed the importance of the festival, which aims to empower youngsters and engage them in making Bahrain’s beautiful image.
She said that the festival opens amid festivities marking the 19th anniversary of the National Action Charter.
The festival which runs until March 7 includes the following activities:
Darayesh: Focuses on various aspects of architecture
We all Read: Emphasises active reading and pursuit of knowledge
Tashkeel: Focuses on fine arts as a tool for communication and expression
Operatic: Highlights different forms of theatrical performances
Technique: Deals with the effects of modern technology and communication channels
Hafawa: A tribute to legacies of late intellectual luminaries from the Arab World
Jadaliyyat: Sheds light on current social and cultural trends
Dawzana: Hones and develops team working skills
Tansees: Revolves around all things media, from traditional to digital
Premiere: Focuses on the art of movie making.
