MANAMA: One person died in a fire at a house in Mukharqa yesterday.
However, firemen were able to rescue two expatriates.
Pakistani national Khadm Ahmed, a 63-year-old worker, died of smoke inhalation.
The Interior Ministry confirmed on Twitter that a Civil Defence team extinguished a fire in a two-storey house.
Five fire engines and 22 firemen were involved in the operation, who reached the site within three minutes, said the Civil Defence director general.
The fire was caused by a short circuit which occurred due to faulty wiring, he added.
