No grace exceeds that of security and safety, and God Almighty has favoured the grace of security over that of subsistence. In the Quran it says, “And remember Abraham said: ‘My Lord, make this a secure city and provide its people with fruits’”.
As every day passes, we see what the situation is like in countries such as Libya, Syria and Iraq, we thank God countless times for the blessing of the security and safety that we live in.
There is no doubt that wise men, with their insightful vision, determination, patience and resilience, have managed to overcome all hardships and tribulations that we have experienced.
This group is headed by His Majesty King Hamad, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, who rely on God and loyal and competent men, including the Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, who has been conferred with the Prince Nayef Medal for Arab Security – First Class, bestowed on him by the Arab Interior Ministers’ Council.
This accolade confirms once again that the watchful eyes on the security of the homeland and the citizen are wide open. That the authorities continue to carry out their great responsibilities, and that we can all be reassured of the future of our homeland, and sleep soundly and safely, because there are those who are committed to watch over us.
This high-level honour has been bestowed on the Interior Minister in recognition of his outstanding successes in developing the security work system and his effective initiatives at local, regional, Arab and international levels. Such honour reflects the great experience and the high Arab status enjoyed by the minister.
It acknowledges his tireless efforts in the field of Arab security, as the honour affirms the success of plans and strategies implemented by the Interior Ministry, particularly on the level of institutionalising co-operation with various Arab countries to achieve sustainable security by exchanging experiences and continuous co-ordination at all levels.
While I am writing this article, I see the tireless efforts that the Ministry of Interior is accomplishing in partnership with several ministries and state institutions to contain the threat of Corona Virus, through high-end professional procedures in all ports of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and distinctive treatment in a way that protects citizens and residents.
Maintaining security is a collective responsibility that is not limited to the state alone. All parties share and bear responsibility in addition to the personal responsibility of citizens, as well as the responsibility of civil society institutions, and if any of these parties doesn’t assume the responsibility for security they will lead us to insecurity and instability.
God’s blessings are countless, and the greatest blessings second to believing in God Almighty, is the grace of security, because security is the opposite of fear, security is tranquility and comfort of the heart, and life does not flourish and develop without security.
So how can life be pleasant if there is no security?
Security is the opposite of fear and anxiety, it is political, economic, social and psychological stability, under which one can live, work, and accomplish much.
