The Martial Arts Club in Al Jasra, with Muay Thai training facility, was unveiled yesterday.
Bahrain Combat Sports Council president Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa inaugurated the club which is located at the Strong Village Sports Centre.
The opening ceremony was attended by Bahrain Kickboxing Association chairman Ahmed Khalid Al Wazzan, Martial Arts Club chief Omran Abdulrahman and other invitees.
Shaikh Salman inaugurated the club and then toured different sections of the facility before attending a Muay Thai display.
He expressed delight at opening the facility which, he said, would contribute to promoting the culture of Muay Thai in Bahrain.
He stressed the keenness of the Bahrain Martial Arts Council to support efforts aimed at developing these sports and bolstering the national teams.
Abdulrahman thanked Shaikh Salman for opening the new centre, hailing his efforts to develop martial arts.
