Manama: His Majesty King Hamad yesterday received chairman of the Board of Trustees of King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence Dr Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, who introduced Soumaya Hussein Hassan Meer following her appointment as a secretary-general.
The King congratulated Ms Meer and wished her every success in assuming her noble national mission.
He expressed pride in Bahraini talents and their ability to achieve success in various fields, as well as contribute effectively to enhancing the kingdom’s progress.
His Majesty lauded the pivotal achievements and initiatives of the centre since its establishment.
He described it as a pioneering civilisational landmark that reflects the kingdom’s deep-rooted history, replete with the values of tolerance, peace and religious freedom.
