A MOSQUE and a multi-purpose hall will be built on Diyar Al Muharraq by the Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Group.
Group deputy chairman and Bahrain Philanthropic Society chairman Fawzi Ahmed Kanoo will sponsor the project.
“My father, the late Ahmed Kanoo, as well as my grandfathers, have all been at the forefront of philanthropy in Bahrain and the region, and through them I’ve learnt the necessity and importance of giving back to society,” said Mr Kanoo.
He signed an agreement with Diyar Al Muharraq’s chief executive Ahmed Alammadi.
Construction begins in two months.
“Building the mosque and multi-purpose hall comes in line with our vision of creating close-knit communities,” said Mr Alammadi.
The multi-purpose hall will be named after Mr Kanoo while the mosque will carry the name of his wife, Khulood Mohamed Abdulla Juma.
